Pulled body off of restore car, and remove the original engine…
Cleaning transmission to get ready for rebuild…
(right) once back from transmission shop, I painted with aluma-blast paint, and clear coat.
The engine was not a number matching engine, so I decided to purchase a new engine instead of rebuilding.
This engine is almost identical to the L82 from 1973.. except for dished instead of flat-top pistons. (8.5:1 instead of 9:0:1 compression) It came from the factory black, so I painted it the traditional Chevy Orange.
Next I installed an Edelbrock aluminum intake, and attached the engine to the freshly rebuilt transmission.
Rebuilt differential which at some point was switched from 3.08:1 to 3.36:1…
then install along with rear suspension…
Installed in the chassis…. starting to look like a car….
